Each Fault

The line cycles through

so many projects. Each

one different from the

other; it’s hard sometimes

to keep tabs on

which is current and

which is on its

last legs, like this

forgotten kit cast aside

because it had a

simple defect, a fault,

that prevented it from

being despatched by volume

to everywhere. Now that

everywhere is here in

this rundown warehouse in

this industrial hive down

by the old stock

yards. And rail lines

zag by next to

roads worn down from

the zigging. It’s almost

like home, you’d say

if feeling quite poetic:

one rundown tawdry pleasance

for a contraption that

was already superseded by

a much new shinier

thingy and for which

its only unpleasant fault

that saw it exiled

forever was that it

was already outdated when

they began assembly. Otherwise,

it worked fine for

the task it was

meant to do. Celebration.

I enjoy solo wargaming and writing. The first caters to the boy that never grew up; the latter satisfies a deep desire to communicate. Cheers.
