The Classics I

The Ovidian Elegaic Metre by Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Described and exemplified

In the hexameter rises the fountain’s silvery column;
In the pentameter aye falling in melody back.

Commentary: The meter emphasises the effect within the fluid imagery. Lovely example of this impact on the audience. Harks back to that time when poetry was spoken, not read.

I enjoy solo wargaming and writing. The first caters to the boy that never grew up; the latter satisfies a deep desire to communicate. Cheers.
