Only once

We celebrate the ordinaire.

We know nothing else.

We even endure calamities

just so we can

share the delights of

any meal had together.

We enjoy convivial talk,

the kind commonly called

chatter. It’s sociable accountability

of the highest order.

We might dress things

with drama; it only

adds body and spice,

and helps to extend

the span between times

of significance and flatline.

The rarer the air

we climb, the more

ordinaire it all

is. We might even

believe how unique it

all is. But do

you know how vastly

broad ordinary truly is?

I enjoy solo wargaming and writing. The first caters to the boy that never grew up; the latter satisfies a deep desire to communicate. Cheers.
