I enjoy solo wargaming and writing. The first caters to the boy that never grew up; the latter satisfies a deep desire to communicate. Cheers.

  1. This is an indulgence piece.

My wife bought a Boston bun some weeks ago. Everything that I remember of this as a child came back to me as soon as I took a bite of this childhood favourite. And that taste and flavour stayed long after the bun had been consumed.

This piece tries to convey that desire. I’ve tried to be forceful, i.e., nothing else matters bar this favourite. Since that taste, I’ve had finger buns and cinnamon buns but nothing compares. I tend to be selective when it comes to cakes and pastries given that I’m really a savoury person (coming from a long line of cannibals).

In editing this piece again, I’ve dispensed with the usual four-line verse structure because I want to convey the joy and pleasure of my childhood favourite. And I felt it appropriate, in this instance, expressing joy as boundless (without structure) seemed relevant. Cheers.
